Evidence-based therapies, informed by NICE guidance

Reaching out to a therapist can take a lot of courage, especially if you’re carrying thoughts you’ve never said out loud, or if you’ve had therapy before that left you feeling like you were the problem.

I want you to know exactly what to expect when you work with me, so here’s how I do things.

Therapy is shaped around you. We work at your pace and in a way that suits how your brain processes things. If something in our sessions isn’t working for you, just let me know and we’ll change it. Whether you need more time to think, a written summary afterwards or your camera off for a while, you’re welcome to ask.

You decide where we’re heading. You choose what you’d like to change and what matters most to you, and I’m not here to tell you how to live your life. I often think of it like a road trip, where you’re in the driving seat choosing the destination. I’ve spent 12 years travelling these roads, so I can help you read the map, spot the roundabouts coming up and find your way off them.

Evidence-based therapies I offer

Here are the therapies I use, each one backed by research. We'll choose together what fits you.

High Intensity CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

This focused approach helps you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours that keep you stuck. By developing practical coping tools, we work together to manage emotional distress, improve mood, and foster a more resilient daily perspective.

ERP Protocol

Exposure and Response Prevention Focused

ERP is a structured CBT approach where we gently face feared situations while resisting the urge to carry out compulsions. It is especially effective for OCD, phobias and health anxiety, and we always go at your pace with careful planning and support.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

EMDR is a gentle, structured therapy that helps you process and reframe difficult or traumatic memories so they feel less overwhelming. It is especially suited to both single-incident and complex trauma, as well as anxiety and low mood linked to past experiences.

ACT Focus

Learn to stay present and move toward what matters most to you. This therapy focuses on accepting what is out of your control while committing to actions that enrich your life, helping you live more fully despite the challenges you may face.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Inference-based CBT

I-CBT

I-CBT looks at how obsessional doubt gets built in the first place, and why it can feel so convincing. It is a newer, research-backed approach for OCD that can be used on its own or alongside ERP, so you can step back from the doubt earlier.

IFS with EMDR

Integrative Parts Work therapies

This integrative approach combines EMDR with Internal Family Systems (IFS), a gentle "parts"-based therapy. Together, they help you process traumatic memories while also getting to know and heal the different parts of you that carry pain, fear or protective roles.
