About Me

I left the NHS to create a less clinical, more flexible space for adults dealing with OCD, trauma, and anxiety to access specialist support without the wait. As a BABCP-accredited therapist, I provide CBT and EMDR through a neuro-affirming lens that celebrates your unique way of processing. We will work together at your pace to help you feel safer in your own mind and body.

More about me

While I was working in the NHS, I saw how long people were waiting, and how much they needed care that was more flexible and neuro-affirming; just like I would.   So I opened my own private practice, which initially ran from my floral studio; a less clinical space where you never have to mask, and where you can get specialist support without the wait.

I'm proud that my practice has been recognised with awards such as "Best CBT Therapy Practice" and "Neuro-Affirming CBT Therapist of the Year" for Greater Manchester, and I am currently a finalist for "Female Therapist of the Year 2026".

Hiya, I'm Charlotte. I'm a specialist OCD and trauma therapist based in the North West, working online with adults across the UK.

I've spent 12 years working in mental health services and the NHS, and I was a mental health social worker before I became a therapist. So you're in experienced hands, with someone who has sat alongside a lot of people feeling the way you might be feeling now.

I work with intrusive thoughts, compulsions, phobias and trauma responses, in a way that's adapted to how your mind works. Many of my clients are autistic or have ADHD, and you don't need a diagnosis to work with me.

Why I do this work

I know how lonely and frightening OCD, trauma and anxiety can feel, and how hard it is to say some thoughts out loud; because I have been there too, and while no two experiences are the same, it can help to feel understood on a deeper level.

I want you to have a calm, non-judgemental space where you can talk honestly, without having to minimise or mask. I want you to feel safer in your own mind and body, and to know that change is possible, even if you have felt stuck for a long time.

"Relaxed, non judgemental and very helpful"

"Charlotte has such a warmth to her and she radiates a kindness and it makes you feel like you can say anything without judgement"

"I just wish I’d found her sooner!"

"It was helpful that Charlotte was flexible with appointment days and times as this made it easier to fit around work and other responsibilities."

Who I am outside of the therapy room

  • Pursuing a lifelong passion, I trained as a florist during the lockdown, which ultimately inspired the vision for my practice.

  • I find immense peace in my garden, where I cultivate and design seasonal displays, favouring garden roses and dahlias.

  • Raising two children keeps me grounded in the beautiful, chaotic reality of family life, which was also the period when my own intrusive thoughts felt most prominent.

  • My career began in mental health social work, where I felt profoundly privileged to support young people navigating the complexities of early psychosis.

Working together

Reaching out to a therapist can take a lot of courage, especially if you're carrying thoughts you've never said out loud, or you've had therapy before that left you feeling like you were the problem. So here is what you can expect from me. Therapy is shaped around you, and we work at your pace. You decide where we're heading.

Assessment and a shared clear plan

Regular sessions of active therapy and review

Whatever you tell me, I won't be shocked. You're always allowed to say no. And if we're not the right fit, I'll help you find someone who is. We'll meet weekly or fortnightly online, using CBT, ERP, I-CBT or EMDR depending on what suits you, with regular check-ins along the way.
